And it came in 3

First off, I am going to and need to apologize to anyone out there who reads this and also my personal life. I am so sorry that I have been suck a lazy slacker and totally left this blog here to rot and die alone with hardly a lived life of it's own. I have no excuse that I have neglected you and I am sincerely sorry and will do my best to make it up to you my lill' mini O mine ....

So... Where really to begin but close to the end? We had been experiencing some crazy pluming problems this past month. We were thinking that it was all coming to an end until this was found on our front door one day after work.

Purchasing an older home is nothing near easy let me tell you. I know that all home owners out there have there horror stories, but when you buy an older home, and I mean like 50+ years, it is pure TROUBLE!

When we first purchased the mini, we replaced all of the pluming in the bathroom before we totally remodeled it (post soon to come) We did this because we did not want to run it to any issues after we put in a new floor/tub/tile and fixtures. In most older homes, the pluming is all galvanized. This type of pluming and material corrodes over time and leaks occur and cause damage with out being noticed at times. In newer homes, the pluming is copper and this problem does not as easily occur. I think ... thats what I have been hearing from all the many who have been in and out of this house the past month. I know nothing about pipes and pluming, but what I do know it old = messy mess, stinky stink, and tears OH THE TEARS!

It started one afternoon when after the gym, a shower was in order for myself! When going to take one, there was no hot water. I mentioned it to J to see if he could save me from the sweat. When looking under the house, he was quick to find, or just hear and spray coming from under neath the house. I have forgotten to mention that all of our pluming is reached from a little crawl space under the house. I need to take a photo so people can understand because thats nothing to common to find anymore. So we quickly shut off the water and began to panic. We knew that it must have just happened that day because we had both taken hot showers earlier. We quickly called our home warranty company to send someone out to check it out. Word of advice: if or when you are purchasing a home, ofter they ask if you would like to purchase a warranty for a few hundred $$ for like a year. DO IT! No one knows what can happen and if you are not a super Mr. fix it, i strongly advise.
Back to reality, Ya big leak = big mess. The plumber was not available till the following day so showers at the mom's for the night.
When the plumber arrived, he refused to go under the house to even check out the problem! Well I am being dramatic but he was listing excuse after excuse and was saying he knew what the problem was and needed parts. BULL!
A complaint was filed but still no showers or even water! A sleep over at the mom's was in order.
Following day another company was called to fix. He actually went under and checked everything out. Problem was he was not available to really fix it till Monday which it was only FRIDAY! But he hooked everything else up so we had warm water use the shower but nothing in the kitchen. Thats where the problem was.
Saturday morning comes around and the two first plumbers were knocking at the door to fix the problem. Surprise to us. 2 hours later and we are what we THOUGHT back to ok....
Sunday while doing dishes, the sink starts to back up.... strange. Everything else is running smoothly and we thought just to get some drain-o. Monday drain-o down the sink and i think everything is ok.... Hour later a horrible gas smell is coming from the bathroom. Our tub was backed up with about 5 inches of black back up sewage grossness! No picture was taken because we had to pack up turn out the power and leave for the night! The smell of that is toxic and dangerous. I can not even describe it.
Next day we came home to see if the house was still in tact and smelly and that is where the 911 call came in. During our little night away in to the next day our AC unit began to smoke and make a horribly loud noise from on top of the house. AHHAHHHAHAH!!! Like it can not get any worse! Luckily J's family owns an air conditioning company and that was easily and quickly fixed, but not the plumbing.
On the 543 day of this drama, the final plumber comes to save the mini.
We still are having some issues with the kitchen sink but no smell. That's fine, I don't cook anyways right.
